Welcome to Sedgemoor Manor Community Nursery and Infant School

Welcome to our website. We hope to give you a snapshot of our school, the latest news, an overview of the staff and governors and a showcase for the children’s work. Please visit regularly to check for updates.

Sedgemoor Manor Community Nursery & Infant School is a friendly and welcoming school serving our local community in the Sydenham area of Bridgwater, Somerset. We have 8 classes including a Nursery Class that offers flexible provision for 3- 5 year olds. Our pupils join us at 3 or 5 years old and transfer to our partner Junior School on the same campus at the end of Year 2 when they are 7 years old.

We offer an exciting and creative curriculum which helps to develop our pupils’ curiosity and desire to learn. Opportunities for learning outdoors are maximised through our own Forest School which we run onsite. All children attend once a fortnight. Learning at Forest School mirrors the learning in the classroom, offering children the opportunity to learn in a different environment. We believe in inclusive education and we work hard to ensure that we meet the learning needs of all our pupils.

Our established team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants place a high value on developing children’s self esteem. We believe our pupils need to feel secure and confident before they can begin to explore the world around them and achieve their potential. We run a Nurture Group to support our more vulnerable pupils and we employ a Learning Mentor full time in school to support pupils who may sometimes find aspects of school life a little challenging.

Our office staff  are friendly and approachable and always available in school hours to help you.

At Sedgemoor Manor Community Nursery and Infants School we aim:

  • to make sure that all children are happy and confident in school
  • to help all children meet their full potential and celebrate their achievements
  • to offer all children equal access to a broad, balanced  and exciting curriculum
  • to give children the chance to work together and on their own
  • to provide all children with a safe environment that helps them want to learn
  • to work together with all our parents and the wider community to create life long learning
  • to value the contributions of our whole staff team by making  sure all have access to ongoing training and development
