Mrs. K. Nelson
In September 2011, Norton Fitzwarren Church of England Community Primary School and Staplegrove Church of England Primary School entered into a collaboration. Mrs Kirsti Nelson, formerly headteacher at Staplegrove, is now the headteacher at both schools. This is viewed as a very exciting move by both school communities, and we at Norton look forward to a long lasting, positive relationship with Staplegrove, working together for the benefit of all of the children.

Pets as Therapy (PaT) has recently introduced an innovative new scheme called Read2Dog. Here at Norton, we are pleased to welcome Jaxon, a standard poodle, the first dog to be placed in the South West. Our school has been chosen, with the support of staff and governors, to be a trial location for the new scheme, which is designed to help those children who sometimes lack the confidence to read out loud. Excellent results have already been achieved for this methodology in the South East of England, following its initial development in the USA.
